AUTHOR GUIDELINES

Tekirdağ NKU Papers on Social Sciences is a refereed journal which is published twice a year. The journal’s scope is interdisciplinary, comparative and/or critical researches and alternative approaches in social sciences. Papers on Social Sciences constitutes a platform for the evaluation and review of current and previous, theoretical and applied studies preferably on the Balkans.

Articles can be written in Turkish or English. Authors hold the scientific and language responsibility of the manuscript.

Authors declare and acknowledge that their manuscript hasn’t been published or printed as a hard copy or electronic copy; hasn’t been advised/accepted for evaluation by any other journal, doesn’t include interference with copyright, doesn’t include any data or statement opposed to laws and human rights, and all responsibility belongs to the author/s. The author/authors is/are responsible for the manuscript, and the content of the manuscripts shouldn’t be attributed to NKU Institute of Social Sciences or Papers on Social Sciences.

All manuscripts should be submitted as electronic copies to dergipark system. Authors should prepare their manuscripts in line with the writing and ethical rules of the journal. The manuscipts that do not follow guidelines are not accepted for evaluation.

This journal operates a double blind review process. The editorial board holds the opportunity to increase the number of reviewers or consults to the advisory board. Authors are to do the revisions that are offered by referees and upload the revised version of the manuscript to dergipark system. The manuscript is published by the decision of the editorial board upon receiving positive review of a minimum of two independent reviewers.

The manuscripts should follow writing and grammatical rules. Corresponding authors fill in “copyright transfer form” and accept that all the publishing rights of the manuscript belong to the Journal of Social Sciences indefinitely.

Authors can submit manuscripts to the journal at all times and have the right to withdraw the manuscript that is in the evaluation process. An author can not publish more than one article in the same issue.
WRITING RULES

Manuscripts shouldn’t exceed 25 pages including appendices and references. Manuscripts should be in Word format, Times New Roman font. The margins should be left 2,5 cm, right 2,5 cm, top 2,5 cm, bottom 2,5 cm.

Headings: Headings of both Turkish and English abstracts should be capitalized, center aligned, written in Times New Roman 12 font, and bold.

Author name/s and titles: Author name/s following their titles (if any), institution and email address should be written below the article heading. Author names should be written in bold 12 font, e-mail addresses should be written in 10 font. Corresponding author should be written as a dipnote to the first page of the article.

Abstract: The first page of the manuscript should include Turkish and English title, abstract in Turkish and English which do not exceed 150 words, and a maximum of five keywords below each abstracts. Abstracts should be written in 12 font and justified.

Chapter Headings: Chapter headings should be written 12 font, capitalized, bold, and justified. Sub headings should be written 12 font, only first letter capitalized. Each part including the introduction one should be numbered in the decimal system as 1., 1.1., 1.1.1.

Main Text: 12 font, alignment; justified, indentation; left: 0 cm, right: 0 cm, special: first line 1 cm. 6nk space should be left before and after paragraphs and row spacing should be single. Page numbers should be placed bottom right.

Tables and figures: Table and figüre headings should be written in bold 12 font, just above the table and figüre, each one should be attained a number as Table 1, Table 2, Figure 1, Figure 2. References of tables and figures should be written below them, in 10 font with full information. The text in tables and figures should be written in 11 font. Mathematical equations should be numbered and these numbers should be written in paranthesis, aligned right.

References: This journal accepts in text references. Explanatory notes should be placed below the page as dipnotes in 10 font. In text references should be written as: (Yıldırım, 2003, s. 5), (Çevik & Korkmaz, 2001, s. 15), (Nişancı vd., 2000, s. 10-12), (IMF, 2004, s. 32).

Bibliography: Bibliography should be placed at the end of the manuscript in 12 font and the works cited should be written in the alphabetical order of the writers’ surnames. If more than one work of the same writer is cited, the oldest one should appear first in bibliography and if they are published in the same year, those works should be separated by letters (2003a, 2003b, 2003c etc.). If single and multiple authored work of the same author is cited, single authored ones should come first in the bibliography.
